Superstitious?

Are you superstitious?

The simple answer is no, I am not a superstitious person. I grew up hearing many things. Don’t walk under a latter. Don’t step on a crack. Don’t cross the path of a black cat. Knock on wood. Throw salt over your shoulder. If one hand itches you will kiss a fool, the other expect money. If your nose itches, someone is talking about you. Seven years bad luck for the broken mirror. Friday the 13th is unlucky. These are just a few of the things I remember of the top of my head.

Then one day I came across this Scripture.

But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.” I Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭7

I slowly let go of anything I felt was superstitious or an old wives’ tale. There are times that the thought still crosses my mind, but I reject the notion and go about living. There is no reason to hold on to superstition.
