Fixed on Heaven

“Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.” Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭

There is a longing

In my soul

To see my Savior

To worship

Amongst the angels

And bow before

The Father’s throne,

And lay my crown

At Jesus’s feet.

To walk the streets

Of gold

And be reunited

With those who

Beat me there.

To ask questions

Of the prophets

And remanence all

The stories from

The Bible

With those that lived

To tell the tale.

I keep my mind

Fixed in Heaven

When the things

Of earth

Want to overwhelm me.

I know the longing

In my soul

Will one day be met

When I cross

From this world

To Heaven’s best.
