Prayer from Psalms 91

Lord we come to You for safety and protection. You are our defender and protector. You are our God; in You we trust. There continue to be so many things that are trying to come up against our freedoms and safety and the future of our families and children. So many things are outside our control, but we know Lord You are in control.

Lord keep us safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. Cover is with Your wings; keep us safe in Your care. We trust Your faithfulness will protect and defend us. Lord protect our water sources, our land, our homes and livelihoods. Defend us and these things against those who would try to use these things for selfish gain and not the betterment of our community.

We do not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight. Our hearts break for the thousands that have fallen dead due to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, addiction, suicide and needless violence. Lord, continue to keep us from harm. Jesus bore sickness and disease on the cross, and it was finished that day. We appropriate His healing power to our lives, our families, and those we know that are sick. He came to set the captives free, so Lord we claim freedom for those trapped in addiction and in hopeless situations. May they walk in Your freedom hear on this earth.

You Lord are our defender, the Most High our protector, and Your Word says that no disaster will strike us, no violence will come near our homes, we claim this promise right now. God put Your angels in charge of us to protect us wherever we go. Thank You that the angels will hold us up with their hands to keep is from hurting our feet on the stones and that we are safe from animals that could harm us.

God we love You and acknowledge You as Lord. We call to You, knowing You will answer us; when we are in trouble, You will be with us. You will rescue us and honor us. You Word says You will reward us with long life; You will save us. In Jesus name we ask these things and stand on Your promises. Amen.
