How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?
I believe that “no” is a complete sentence. There is not an explanation needed, those two letters communicate everything that needs to be said. I will use it not only if something interferes with my goals, I use it if it interferes with my downtime. I don’t even feel bad using it when I just don’t want to do something.
I understand that when I say “yes” to someone else I am saying “no” to my own self and needs. There may be times I need to say yes, to put someone else’s needs before my own. It has to be done out of a sacrificial desire not out of guilt or obligation. It is not because someone is more important, but because I love or care about them enough to want to say “no” to myself.
