Patiently Waiting

For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. Hebrews 6:13-15

God keeps His promises. They may not come in my timing or even look like I think it should. If I endure, I will obtain the promise. There are many promises in my life I have already seen fulfilled. There are still others that I continue to wait for the promise to come to pass. Even though for some, it has been over twenty ears, I still believe that God is true to His word. His promises will not return void.

I recognize, God owes me nothing. I owe Him everything. He didn’t have to speak any promises to me. He knows I have broken many promises to Him I have tried to manufacture my own answers. God is still creative and His Words have power. When He speaks it will com into existence just by His nature. That is the amazing God I serve!

How it gets to “On earth as it is in Heaven” is in His hands. It is in His timing. I will do what I can, but I also have to make sure that I am not birthing an Ishmael trying to make something happen in my own strength. I have to just hold to His promise. I have to listen to His instructions for my part. Then I just wait for Him to bring it to pass.

Prayer- Lord thank You that You are a God of promises. Thank You that You are faithful to bring what You say to pass. Help me to patiently endure to the promise. In Jesus name, Amen.
