Let me just say, when I want to be, enthusiasm pours out of me. If you get me talking about something that I am passionate about, my enthusiasm is contagious. My mother used to say I could sell Santa Clause a bikini in the dead of winter if I was passionate about it.
One area where I have not had much enthusiasm is stepping out. I want to, I really do, but if I am honest, it can be so uncomfortable. It isn’t enough to be outgoing, which I realized I never really was. It isn’t enough to have a great idea, which I sometimes come up with. Every insecurity I have raises it’s ugly head to suffocate my enthusiasm when I think about stepping out.
My mind starts flooding with questions, that get me so tied up I can’t manage to move let alone actually step out. Maybe you have asked some of these same questions.
What if I am missing God, and this is just me?
What if I am rejected?
What if I am wrong?
What if I fail?
What if I fumble?
Have you ever noticed that we never ask the what ifs in a positive form? Oor minds automatically go to the worst case scenario.
What if this is God, just wanting to use His daughter for something good?
What if I am met with open arms and acceptance?
What if I hit the nail on the head, because lets face it, God knows, so it is right?
What if I succeed?
What if everything goes smoothly?
Maybe by reframing out questioning thoughts, we could change how we feel and actually boldly be able to step out into the things that God is calling us to.
What questions do you need to reframe today to help you take that step of faith?

Ah, the “what ifs”. They can take us quickly down a dark rabbit hole or up the ladder to success!
