Guarding the Heart of Marraige

Malachi 2:15-16 (CJB)

And hasn’t he made [them] one [flesh]
in order to have spiritual blood-relatives?
For what the one [flesh] seeks
is a seed from God.
Therefore, take heed to your spirit,
and don’t break faith with the wife of your youth.

“For I hate divorce,”
says Adonai the God of Isra’el,
“and him who covers his clothing with violence,”
says Adonai-Tzva’ot.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
and don’t break faith.

guardmarriageGod made husband and wife one flesh.  We must guard our heart to stay in good relationship with our spouse.  God doesn’t like divorce, that is why we become one flesh.

Part of guarding my heart is guarding my marriage.  I haven’t always done the best at that.  I take for granted so much, especially when I am sick or he is grumpy.  God put us together.  God has a plan and purpose for our lives individually, and together.  I need to do a better job of guarding the heart of my marriage and of encouraging my husband.

Prayer:

Lord I love Tim and I thank you for bringing us together.  Lord, help each of us be the spouse you created us to be.  Help us to guard out marriage together.
