We are called to wait #Write31Days

wpid-wp-1445105567770.jpegWaiting.  It’s never an easy thing to do.
Waiting patiently is even harder.
Yet, the scriptures are filled
with waiting.

Moses waited in the wilderness.
The Israelites waited for the Promise land.
The world waited on a Savior.
The disciples waited on the Holy Spirit.

Noah worked while he waited for rain.
Joseph waited with grace,
on his dream to come true.
Joshua and Caleb waited with faith.
David waited with great honor
to become king.
The Israelites complained,
and were left to wander for forty years.

Waiting takes discipline,
because it is easy to lose faith
when what we are believing for
does not take place.
We are called to wait in faith.

Waiting takes discipline
because its hard to not grow idle
as time passes
without the promise.
We are called to wait with focus.

Waiting takes discipline,
because when people have wronged us
it is easy to get sucked into vengeance and revenge
instead of allowing God to handle things.
We are called to wait with grace.

Waiting takes discipline,
because we know where we are headed,
but can’t exalt our self
above another.
We are called to wait with honor for others.

Waiting takes discipline,
because it is easy
to get discouraged.
We are called to wait with courage.

Waiting takes discipline,
because some sometimes
we have to stand alone.
We are called to wait,
and be brave.

Waiting takes discipline
because we often grow weary,
As time passes on
Without an end in sight
We are called to wait, patiently.

About Jackie S

I have been through a lot in life, but through Christ I am more than an overcomer. I am not perfect, I will never claim to be. Praise God I am forgiven though. I am rather opinionated. I see most things in black and white and believe honesty is always the best policy. This combination sometimes comes off harsh. The truth is I love people. I truly love helping others and try the believe the best about others. It is easy to find faults, but focusing on strengths is more my style, but I also shoot it straight. If it sounds harsh, know my heart is for something better for you
