Holy Spirit’s Help

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26

Jesus let the disciples know that Holy Spirit would come to help them. He, Holy Spirit would teach and help them to remember what Jesus taught. The same Spirit Jesus sent to them, now resides in every believer. Holy Spirit does not force His help on us or try to teach disinterested students. He waits for us to ask for help and to want His instruction. He pulls on what we have already learned in order to bring to our remembrance what we need. Each of these things put every responsibility on the believer.

We have to be willing to ask for help. He may provide supernaturally or He may bring alongside someone who can help us in our time of trouble. I’ve seen God do both. He provided me with the wisdom as a solution to a problem I faced at work. He gave me a supernatural answer that did not look like it would work in the natural. We needed more money. We couldn’t increase our capacity. His solution kept the same number but multiplied the outcome to the amount needed. That is Holy Spirit’s help.

Another time, God brought a long help in human form. Strangers are often used by God but other times He lets those we know help out in a way we would not expect. I have had strangers fix my car and pay my way when I didn’t see a way. I’ve had friends near and dear step out in a way I would never anticipate. That’s Holy Spirit’s help.

Holy Spirit is an amazing teacher. I have to choose to open myself up to His classroom. He is always available but I have to be open to receiving the lesson. I can think of times in my life where I know He tried to teach me, but my stubbornness I was not ready for it and so I did not receive.
