Belong

See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. 1 John 3:1

There is something special about knowing you belong. After our physical needs are met, belonging is one that we need the most. We need a place to know that we are wanted. We belong with God as His children. He chose us to be with Him because of His great love for us. He didn’t get stuck with us, as some children are made to feel; He chose us. He chose us even knowing us before the foundation of the world and knowing every way that we would let Him down and sin against Him. It is hard for the world to comprehend this level of love and belonging because they don’t know Him.

Lord, thank You for Your great love, for Your acceptance of me and for claiming me as Your child. I love You Lord and I love being part of Your family. Today I lift up those who don’t know Your great love, those who are still looking for a place to belong. Lord I pray for protection and safety for those who don’t know You. Minister to them Lord. Bring them into the path of people who will help them to see that they can belong to You and that You will love them.
