The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. Deuteronomy 28:12
Growing up in Arkansas and Missouri, it was easy to take rain for granted. Moving to New Mexico , I can understand the need for God to give rain to the land. The drought here really impacts those who live off the land. It also impacts this spoiled brat who really wanted to go float for the weekend on the Rio Grande.
I spent the last year praying for rain. I remember God bringing this passage to me, as New Mexico is filled with many nations. In addition to being a part of the United States of America, there are twenty-three sovereign Native American nations in New Mexico. I would love to see each of those nations thriving and lending to other nations. The Native American people have already been striped of so much. I stand in the gap believing that God will open the storehouses to bless them too!
Prayer: Lord, bless the nations in New Mexico. Open for them the abundant storehouse, give this land the rain in its season. Bless the work of the people’s hands. Let them lend and not borrow. In Jesus name.
