Dressed in Strength

She dresses herself with strength
    and makes her arms strong. Proverbs 31:17

I am emotionally strong because I’ve walked with God through many things. I have never seen myself as physically strong. Physical strength, like emotional strength is a choice. I have to choose to dress myself in strength, to make myself strong. Another scripture that says “the joy of the Lord is my strength” Nehemiah 8:10.

I have to get dressed with joy, to make myself strong with joy in the Lord. Most of my life, I have grumbled and complained when it comes to any kind of exercise or strength training. I have not done it with joy. I have also tried to do it in my own strength, even as I have declared that I am not strong. It is a self defeating mindset of the worst kind.

The truth is “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13! I need to rely on His strength. I need to dress myself with His strength. I need to make my arms strong through Him because He wants me to be strong to carry out the plans and purposes He is designed for me just like everything else. This has to be done in Him, through Him, by Him and for Him.

Lord forgive me for my complaining mouth and trying to do things in my own strength. And every day forward I dress myself in your strength. I choose to make my arm strong through You and for You.
