Various Trials

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7

Trials test the genuineness of our faith. Bob Goff writes, “Fear and uncertainty launch us towards God, He is always there to receive us when we arrive.” I love that.

Our faith should result in praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Christ. People can see if our reactions and actions are in faith. I think it is a revelation of Christ to them because we reveal His peace,joy, love or grace; whatever it may be that we are expressing outward.

Lord, right now all of life is uncertain. I just moved to an area where I don’t know anyone. There is a global pandemic and the country is in unrest over elections. Lord my trust is in You. Is on you. I know the future is in Your hands. Let me know what You want me to do, I only want Your will.
