Servants and Stewards

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2

servant – Strong’s G5257 – hypēretēs – anyone who aids another in any work; an assistant: of a preacher of the gospel

stewards – Strong’s G3623 – oikonomos the manager of a household or of household affairs; especially a steward, manager, superintendent (whether free-born, or, as was usually the case, a freed-man or slave) to whom the head of the house or proprietor has entrusted the management of his affairs, the care of receipts and expenditures, and the duty of dealing out the proper portion to every servant and even to the children not yet of age:Metaphorically, the apostles and other Christian teachers as those to whom the counsels of God have been committed to be made known to men:

We are called to work alongside Christ and Faithfully make known the councils of God to others as Christians. That we may know everything, but as followers of Christ we are told to share the good news. Been upset at the lack of faithfulness I have seen in leaders, but I have to give grace because while at times I was physically present, I failed to be a faithful steward of the council that God had given me. Excuse I felt, and usually did so with the knowledge of my choice. I can seek to do better in my daily life and in the church body where God plants me.

Lord thank You for Your grace which I have time and time again seeing cover my failure. I ask for Your forgiveness in my failure to serve You and to steward Your mysteries. I am grateful that You are faithful and just to forgive my sins. Holy Spirit I know You have empowered me, helped me to press in, past my comfort zone to be an obedient and faithful servant and steward, that is my desire.

Lord I lift up my nephew to You and ask You for healing to Shane’s body on earth as it is in heaven. The completed work of Christ was finished on Calvary and I ask for You to be faithful to Your word and apply the finished work to Shane’s life here on Earth. I pray You give his parents peace and comfort in this time and let them draw closer to You during this season. Give the doctors and nurses the knowledge of Christ in treating him. Guide their minds, actions, and hands. Give him compassionate caregivers. Minister to them as only You can. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
