Universal and Personal

For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth. Isaiah 54:4

This little verse, reflects so much of who God is. He is to the one, and to the Church all things. He is Maker of all. He is husband of the bride. He is the Lord of Hosts. He is our Redeemer. He is the Holy One of Israel. He is the God of the whole earth.

God is both universal and personal.

I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. Leviticus 26:12

He made it all, but He made me too.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13

He has called the Church His bride; yet, He desires intimacy with me personally.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4

He is the Lord of Hosts, Commander of heavenly armies, and yet He is my defender.

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. Psalm 5:11

He is the Holy One of Israel. Angels continually cry out “holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.” Yet, He allows me to know Him and He calls me holy.

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, Ephesian 1:4

He is the Redeemer of the whole world. He is also my personal redeemer and the redeemer of lost time.

For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; Job 19:25

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. Joel 2:25

He is the God of the whole earth and yet, gives me free will to make Him the God of my life.

 I will judge each one of you according to his ways.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “Repent and turn from all your rebellious acts, so they will not become a sinful stumbling block to you. Ezekiel 18:30

Only God could be so big and vast, yet also so close and personal.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

That is the God I serve!

Prayer – Lord, I can not comprehend your love for creation or for me. I praise You anyway! I thank You for who You are! You are an amazing God.
