The Gospel leads to Acts

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:17

There are two revelation quotes in the devotion The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Kahn that I am reading right now:

  1. The gospel must always lead to acts. (It is not enough to hear the Gospel, it must produce change in you as you act upon it.)
  2. Acts must always begin with the gospel. (You can never produce acts of God or godliness on your own.)

As I come back from Israel, I want to apply this to my own life. I walked in the places of the Gospel, I don’t want it to be just something I have seen and heard but I want to live it out. I don’t want to go back to life as usual, but I want to live out the messages I have heard. I want to live out the things I know God did. I want the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead to live in and through me. I want to pray like I did in Israel. I want to see God move in my family and in this region. I want to see Him change the nation, both in the U.S. and Israel. I want to see what God would do with my surrendered life.

Lord, help me to act out my faith. Help me to stand in faith and to take action that backs up the faith I have. I stand with arms raised and heart abandoned saying here I am. Lead me. Guide me. Use me. I want to do whatever You ask.
