His protection

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
    and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:1b-2

Because Christ redeemed me, He called me, He chose me, and I am His. There is nothing He brings me to that I will not be able to go through with Him at my side. I don’t have to let things overwhelm me. I will not be burnt when going through the fire; nor will I be consumed. God will be there with me. It is reassuring, as well as, confirmation.

God will be there for me through it all. He has been with me through everything I have walked through. He will be with me in the future. At the times I have felt overwhelmed, it is because my focus has not been on Him. When I come out feeling burnt or consumed, it is because I let go of Him. He didn’t leave me, I let go of His protection.

Lord, thank you that you are always with me, protecting me from being overwhelmed or consumed. Help me to rely on You, stay close to You, and be aware of Your presence in me and through me. I love you! Help me be a light for You today.
