“To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power,”. 2 Thessalonians 1:11
Sometimes I feel guilty when I miss a day of journaling. But this is one that I feel like it was God’s timing. The message that was preach today, gave the scripture and devotion I read, take on another perspective. The message Pastor Curtis preached was on vision. He said “Vision comes from a God-given burden. That burden gives birth to a mandate or assignment. The vision is how that is carried out.”
Then I read the devotion from the Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn. He shared how God appointed the Levites to different duties in the temple. How God appointed Jonah to go to the Ninevites. And how God appointed the fish, the worm, and the east wind. They each had a ministry to fulfill.

I realize some assignments are part of God‘s perfect plan, like the Levites. Some assignments are to help shape our misguided conceptions. The fish would not have been needed for that assignment if Jonah had just obeyed. And the leaf, the worm, and the east wind would not have been needed if Jonah’s heart had the right motive.
I need to listen to that still small voice because my assignment may be His perfect will. It may also be necessary and not make sense to me because of someone else’s disobedience. The assignment could be because of a wrong heart attitude. His assignment doesn’t have to make sense to me.
The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind by Bill Johnson is in the women’s Bible study we are doing right now. Bill Johnson talks about not reasoning or trying to analyze when God tells us to do something. He recommends to obey first when God gives an assignment. He reminds me that I don’t need to understand the assignment in the moment. I need to just obey.
Prayer – Lord, I know I haven’t always answered Your call. I have missed many of Your assignments to me. Thank You for Your forgiveness, and grace, and mercy, that cover me. Yet Lord, I want to do better. I want ears to hear Your voice. Eyes to see what You need me to see. Courage to obediently step out in faith to do whatever You are asking me. And Your power that I may fulfill every good work that You have called me worthy to be part of. In Christ name I pray, giving all glory and honor to You. Amen.
