Humble to be Lifted

Passage – Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time he may lift you up. 1 Peter 5:6

Restated in my own words – Don’t try to lift up yourself up, be humble before me and God will lift you up in His time.

Application to my life – I know that there are still areas in my life where the enemy tries to trip me up. I have learned to be humble. There is nothing I have done in and of myself and everything that I have been given the opportunity to do comes from God. If I put myself in a high position, it’s easy to get knocked down but when God lifts me up He will keep me there as long as I surrender because the results are in His hands.

Your response back to God – Lord, forgive me of any pride I still hold. Help me to identify it as such and humble myself so that You won’t need to humble me.
