He is Good

Passage – For you have tasted that Adonai is good. 1 Peter 2:3

Restated in my own words – You have tasted that the Lord is good.

Application to my own life – God uses all of our senses and even to the taste He is good. His word feeds my soul and only when I feast on Him am I truly satisfied. It is always interesting to me that when I fast unto the Lord, I really don’t hunger despite what He calls me to. Any other time I cannot skip a meal or I think I’m dying of starvation. It is the goodness of God that I can feed on Him and be content. I can fellowship in His presence, and let Him touch the deep recesses of my soul and even though it hurts it is good.

He makes a way to sort through the pain and shows me that He is the one who holds me. In my happiest moments He is there, supplying them to me, His child. He is there when my heart cries out in sadness and grief, comforting His child. He is there when I gather with others celebrating fellowship. He is there when I feel lonely reminding me He is always with me. He is good and I have tasted and seen this.

Your response back to God – Lord, YOu are good in all Your ways. Thank Your for showing me Your goodness and letting me not just witness it in others but allowing me to experience it for myself. Your are a good, good Father. You are my Heavenly Father.
