Investing in Eternity

Scripture – Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well. 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Thoughts about what the Scripture means – Our trust shouldn’t be in money but in the God who is our true provider. We have money for good deeds, storing up riches in Heaven. This is what Christian living looks like.

Application to my life – Investing in eternity – it is one thing I have consistently done in life. I didn’t know that’s what I was doing. I realize that is just who God made me to be. He’s not only enabling us to live this way, He provides us with what we need to live this way.

Response back to God – Lord, thank You for being all I need, providing all I need and making me all I need to be. Help me to walk in it.
