My Hiding Place

Scripture – We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods. Psalm 91:1

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – God promises to be our shelter, hiding place and protection.

Application to my life – God has always been a place where I could find protection. He has been a shelter I could run to when my world was crashing down around me. He has been my place of safety where I could dump my problems. Maybe I don’t always abide there but I have always known He is my shelter.

Much like a pavilion at the lake or park, I would go and enjoy life around , but when I am tired or the environment around me gets rough, or a I need refreshment of food or drink, I would go to the shelter. Sometimes I need to stay a little longer than other times. When I needed rest, I could trust Him while I rested. Although I didn’t realize I had all the access because I was living in His shadow.

Response back to God – Lord, thank You for being a place of hiding from the world around me, a place of protection for my soul and safety for my heart. Thank You that even though I didn’t understand it, You were always there for me.

Lord, I lift up D.J. to You, I pray that You would guide and direct me on how to minister to her to draw closer to You. In Jesus name. Amen.
