Prayer of Healing and Forgiveness

Scripture – Is anyone sick? He should call for the elders of the church and they should pray over him and pour a little oil upon him, calling on the Lord to heal him. And their prayer, if offered in faith, will heal him, for the Lord will make him well; and if his sickness was caused by some sin, the Lord will forgive him. James 5:14-15

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – God promises healing as we ask the leaders of the congregation to pray in faith and anoint with oil. This prayer will also forgive sins.

Application to my life – I’ve never noticed the part if your sickness is caused by sin you will be forgiven. That’s what sticks out to me. Others pray and I’m forgiven, that’s the power of prayer and faith in God.

Response back to God – Lord I can’t anoint her with oil but I lift up my friend R.C. to You right now. You see this attack on her body and the effects of the medication on her body. Lord anoint her with Your holy oil, lay Your hands on her and bring complete healing to her body, mind, soul, and spirit. Lord bless the work of her hands and the lives that she ministers to. Forgive her of any sin that might be impacting her health. Thank You for Your healing power. Amen.
