Defeating the foe

With God’s help we will do mighty things, for He will trample down our foes. Psalms 60:12

It’s easy to overlook scriptures like Psalms 60:12, because in the natural I don’t feel like I really have any enemies.  This morning reading this, I thought about the enemies that we face in the supernatural.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12 NLT

God has appointed us to do mighty things. He has already trampled the foe, it was finished at the cross.  Yet, there are so many time,  I allow the voice of the enemy to stop me from doing the things that God has called me to do. I let my own insecurities stop me in my tracks. I let the voices of opposition, speak louder than the voice of my Lord.  I focus on the flesh and blood instead of the true enemy at work.

Jesus trampled the enemy at the cross.  At the resurrection, He overcame them once and for all.  As His child, He has called me to do great and mighty things.  It is time that I recognize my enemy as the evil spirts that are working to destroy me and keep me from the great and mighty works God has appointed for me.  It is time that I recognize the authority I have in Him over the defeated foe.
