First {#FMFParty}

wpid-wp-1444066500511.jpegThis year
I have set a goal,
not a new year’s resolution
to put God first.

Sometimes I think
that is what I am doing,
but in reality,
I have still put me first.

It is hard
in such a world
where we are taught
to look out
for number one
to do anything
but that.

However, I realize
When I put God first,
He puts me first.
When I seek Him,
He draws near.

I realize
I can’t do anything
apart from Him.
Yes, I have skills
and talents
I have fallen back on
for many years,
but ultimately
He is the one
who gave them
to me.

I have to stop
doing things
my own way,
and turn it
over to Him.

It also means
being obedient
in all things.
Most of all
my trust
in Him.

It is interesting
the ways
He is already
making Himself known
to me
as I submit
to putting
Him first.

I don’t know
I have only
talked about it before
and not
really done it.

About Jackie S

I have been through a lot in life, but through Christ I am more than an overcomer. I am not perfect, I will never claim to be. Praise God I am forgiven though. I am rather opinionated. I see most things in black and white and believe honesty is always the best policy. This combination sometimes comes off harsh. The truth is I love people. I truly love helping others and try to believe the best about others. It is easy to find faults, but focusing on strengths is more my style, but I also shoot it straight. If it sounds harsh, know my heart is for something better for you.

It is a part of our growth. I am learning that no matter how long I am a Christian that it is a process as God takes us from glory to glory. SO glad it was an encouragement to you.

I think we all go through that. It’s maybe part of our growth? Not sure. I’ve only been a Christian four years. This post was so encouraging. Thanks. 🙂
