Prayer of Thanks

Gracious Heavenly Father, today I just want to pause and thank You. There are so many things that are going on in this world that want to draw attention away from Your goodness. So today I just thank You for those things I often take for granted. I thank You for life, for breath in my lungs. I thank You for the beautiful sunrise, the majestic mountains, the birds in the sky and the little creatures that scurry in the dirt. I thank You for the affection of my animals. I thank You for the love of a child, the joy of friendship, and the challenge of a job well done. I thank You for the balloons that filled the sky this morning. I thank You for transportation, shelter, running water and electricity. I thank You for beauty that surrounds me even in the desert. I thank You for the love of others in my life and the ability to love. I thank You for a church building where I can gather and the fellowship with other believers. I thank You for the ability to have access to Your Word and for the gift of worship music. I thank You for the challenges and trials I face that remind me of my dependence on You and that grow me into the person You created me to be. I thank You for this community of people that also lift You up. I thank You that no matter how many struggles we face there will always be reason to give You thanks, to worship and praise You as long as I live. Amen!!!
