Our precious Lord and Savior as we enter this advent season, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, we turn our hearts towards the love that has been shown to us. Thank You for bridging the chasm between us and doing it in a way that the world did not expect. The world was looking for a mighty warrior and king, you sent an innocent child born in a manger. Lord, You still show up in so many ways that we don’t expect, but we thank You that You are always there and always on time.
Lord in this season where it is so easy to be swept up in the commercialism of the holidays, help us to keep our focus on the true meaning of why we celebrate.

Help us to be generous in our giving, just as You have been generous with us even when we were so undeserving. Help us to love, not only our families and friends, but also those who are less fortunate and those on the fringes of society. Give us eyes to see them as You see them and help us to take the time to see the need and the person behind the need. Help us to slow down during this advent season and spend time with You and with those we care about, help us to take in the moments that we will one day miss, even with those who may drive us crazy in the moment. Lord help us to treasure Your presence above all the other presents we may receive knowing that all good things come from You.
Lord, thank You for this community of people. Meet the needs of each person that may read this prayer. Lord, line up the desires of their heart with Your heart and help them see Your hand at work in their lives. I ask these things in Jesus precious name. Amen.
