Prayers for the hurting

God of all Comfort, there are so many hurting from the events that have occurred this past week and month with the floods and the fires, there is sickness and death, and so many hurting, but Your Word says You are near to the brokenhearted, You comfort those who mourn, so I ask Lord that You draw near to those who are hurting. Lord help them to draw near to You, even as they may be questioning the goodness and sovereignty of Our Lord in allowing these things to occur. Make Yourself real to them and help us to praise You even in the difficult moments. We can’t see the goodness in these situations, but that does not change that you are still good. Help each of us to focus on the things we have to be thankful for even in the midst of these tragedies, help us to see the goodness around us. Lord, meet every need and surround those who are hurting, broken and those healing with people who love them and will walk with them through this season. Help Your children to be willing to be someone who will walk alongside those who are hurting, to lift them up, to meet the tangible needs, and to help carry the burden so they know they are not alone and can feel Your love through a human body.
