For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10

Prepared beforehand – Strong’s G4282 – proetoimazō to prepare beforehand in mind and purpose, i. e. to decree
We would walk – Strong’s G4043 – peripateō to regulate one’s life, to conduct oneself
Jesus saved us by grace. There is nothing we can do to earn the free gift of God. He created us for a purpose to do good works, to conduct ourselves for His glory and honor.
Although I believe God prepared those good works for us to do from the beginning, I believe until we line our lives up with Christ and become a new creation, we can’t fully walk in all the works He created us to do. We need the infilling of Holy Spirit to fully walk in all God created us for. We can’t do it in the natural, or we wouldn’t need Him.
God has a plan and purpose for every person’s life. He created us to walk in the divine calling He made for us. God didn’t make us for the works of the law because we will fail those; instead He created us to conduct our lives in the fashion of Christ in true fellowship with Him.
Lord, I know that You created me for a purpose. I don’t want to run from the works You created me for. I want to regulate my life to Jesus Christ. I want to conduct my life in cooperation with Holy Spirit to fulfill every good work You created me for.
