“of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power. To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;” Ephesians 3:7-9
Paul reflects on the grace of God that is at work in his life. How God called him to minister the gospel to the Gentiles. He shared feeling unworthy, calling himself the least of all saints. He saw the things God had called him to do as a high calling.
As I reflect on this passage, I see that it is by God’s grace and power we are called to serve Him. It is a privilege to be able to minister to others. God has chosen each person for a specific purpose. Only God’s grace allows us to fulfill that purpose.
gift – Strong’s G1431 – dōrea – a thing giving willingly to someone without payment; a present; a very easy task or unmissable opportunity
Effectual working Strong’s G1753 – energeia – working, efficiency, in the New Testament used only of superhuman power, whether God or of the devil
Power – Strong’s G1411 – dynamis – universally, inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth: the power of God, the divine power considered as acting upon the mind of men
Riches – Strong’s G4149 – ploutos – fullness, abundance, plentitude, the fullness of things pertaining to salvation with which Christ is able to enrich others.
Fellowship – Strong’s G2842 – koinōnia – fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation, intercourse; the share which one has in anything, participation in the mystical body of Christ for the church
God gives an opportunity we can’t miss when we do it in fellowship with Christ and His power. It will further His kingdom. It has little to do with us and much to do with His grace and power.
Lord thank you for the opportunities you have sent before me. me to obediently set step into them, staying in Fellowship with you and operating in your power and grace.
