“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Philippians 2:1-2
“If there is encouragement in Christ, consolation in love, fellowship with the Spirit, any affection and compassion,” Paul writes to the believers at Philippi, we need Christ, God, Holy Spirit and people. For His joy to be complete, that comes when we are of one mind, on love, one spirit and one purpose with Him and others.
These are not things we can do in and of ourselves. We need the encouragement of Christ, the love of God in us, and fellowship with Holy Spirit to help us be affectionate and compassionate with others. Only then can we have the same mind, same love, same spirit and same purpose. He is not asking for a general alignment or compromise, but the same in each of us. These all flow from our relationship with God. It is amazing to know how He sets things up. We work with Him and age aligns us with Him and then with others.
Lord, help me to stay connected to every part of You so I can be connected with others as You designed. Help me to walk in unity with You so I can walk in unity with others.
