PRAYER FOR SECURE BORDERS

You have defined and established all the borders of the earth [the divisions of land and sea and of the nations; You have made summer and winter (Psalm 74:17 AMP).

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the foundation of the United States, that we were created as a nation for freedom. Lord, the borders of this nation, like any nation, are meant to be protected so that our freedoms and way of life can be maintained. It is not to keep all people out, but to protect the freedoms that this country was founded on and that so many people have given their lives to defend.

Lord You established the borders of the land and water. You described boundaries of the land You gave to the Israelites and even within each of the twelve tribes. You provided instructions to them about foreigners that would live among them. That example shows that there is a place for secure borders. Open borders have created a problem that is too big for the United States financially and physically but it is not too big You. Lord, I pray that You would give wisdom to our leaders nationally and in the border states of how they can maintain secure borders while also offering legal avenues that are expedient to those seeking refuge in our nation or wanting to become citizens of this nation. Give them discernment about those who are seeking our way of life versus those seeking to destroy it or have ill motives.

Lord, I pray against the violence, criminals and terrorists that have been coming across our borders illegally. I pray the words of Isaiah that “Violence shall no longer be heard in our land, Neither wasting nor destruction within our borders; But we shall call our walls Salvation, And our gates Praise.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭18‬ ‭‬ This nation was founded on immigration, it is not that we seek to keep everyone out, but instead ask Lord that You help us to keep those that would cause harm to our nation and our freedoms out.

I pray Lord that You help us to know how we can help people from other nations, but not at the expense of our nation’s people. Help Your Church to rise up and provide solutions because we know that all people are created in Your image and have value and worth. Families need to be kept together, safety is important, avenues for citizenship need to be easier to complete timely.

Lord come against these people who are trafficking, children, women, and men for the purpose of slave labor, the drug trade, and sex trade as well as any other type of slavery. Lord, bring this to an end, bring what they are doing into the light and let the darkness end. Lord, do not allow this to happen in this nation by our citizens or by illegal immigrants.

Lord, protect those individuals and families in the United States who are being personally impacted by illegal immigration. I pray for their protection and safety. I pray for swift justice when there are crimes committed by people who have entered this nation for wrong motives. I ask these things in Jesus name, amen.
