PRAYER FOR OUR MILITARY

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13 NIV).

Heavenly Father, I lift up the men and women serving the United States in the armed forces. Thank You for their brave service, dedication and sacrifice. Please keep a hedge of protection around each service member. Lord, give them the rest they need to be able to give their best. Refresh their mind, and guard it so that they don’t internalize the terrible things they may see. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they go through their service time.

Lord, I lift up the families of our service men and women. I thank You for their sacrifice for our country. I pray Lord that You surround them with community that can help meet the tangible needs that come with being separate from their own support. Meet every need they have. Strengthen them, encourage them, and carry them through their loved one’s deployment and/or service time.

I pray for the chaplains who provide spiritual counsel to our armed forces. Lord open doors for them to openly share the gospel and soften hearts to be receptive and good ground for the seeds they plant. Lord strengthen the chaplains to help the men and women with what they are facing. Give them wisdom and discernment that comes only from You.

Lord I also pray for the leadership of each branch of our military to resist progressive agendas and stand firm in maintaining strength in our fighting forces. Give them wisdom to know when we need to be involved and what strategies to use, and when we need to support in other ways and when to withdrawal.

Lord I also ask these things for the military of Your people Israel. Protect them. Guide their strategies just as You did in days of old. Give them wisdom and discernment. Encourage them. Meet their needs and the needs of their families. In Jesus name. Amen.
