Prayer for discernment of spirits

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 ESV).

Lord, I ask that your gift of discernment be given to all believers to help discern spirits that are not of You. Help us to recognize where there is pride, division, strife, envy, and selfishness that it is not of You. Lord, forgive us, Your Church, for allowing the other spirits to gain influence in our churches.

Lord forgive me for times that I have sewed out of a spirit of pride. Forgive me when I have so division. Forgive me when I have caused strife or been envious. Lord forgive me for when I have been selfish. I know these things are not of you, and I repent of allowing them to come out of this temple. Forgive me for times that I have allowed those spirits to influence me and help me to discern when the spirits are active, but they may be cast out and cast down.

Lord, I pray that you would help your church to take up our spiritual armor. To recognize that our nation is in a real spiritual battle and give us a discernment to be able to see into the spirit realm. We know the weapons are our warfare are not carnal. So often we treat the person in front of us like our enemy but we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭Help us to recognize these spiritual forces and fight in the spirit realm instead of with flesh.

Help your children Father to seek Your wisdom, asking knowing that You will give it generously. Help us to walk in humility, and to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to You, which is our reasonable service. Help us to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”Lord I ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
