PRAYER FOR THE MEDIA

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32 ESV).

Lord I pray that You would reveal the blatant misinformation and censorship of media outlets that report the truth, bring the truth into light. Lord, the action of the media has created anxiety and confusion, and sowed division among family, friends, and communities across this nation. Lord, so many of the means of disseminating information are biased, corrupt, or compromised, but people need the truth to be able to make informed decisions. The truth is more powerful than any lie because the truth has the power to set people free.

Lord I pray for integrity and truth in media and for corrupt media outlets to either reform or go out of business. Lord bring about change so that media will only want to report the truth without embellishments, biases or flat out lies. Lord, remove the vails from people’s eyes that run these businesses and do this type of reporting to see they are destroying our nation. Lord bring wisdom and balanced, unbiased coverage and the conviction to report the facts in a truthful manner.

I thank You Lord that we do have freedom of the press and I believe that we need freedom of speech but deception in your job as a way of making money needs to be stopped in this nation. I don’t believe that it would be accepted in any other industry as okay. I pray You would change the hearts of people in media to want to make sure what they are reporting is the truth and nothing but the truth and that is what they should have the freedom to speak, print and post, anything else should be labeled an opinion piece.

Lord shift our nation’s media to focus on truth. In Jesus name. Amen.
