Prayer for Families

Lord,the family was created to be a central part of Your plan and because of that the enemy has set out to destroy the family in any way he can. Lord, For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. (Ephesians 3:14-15). Lord, I pray for unity in families across this nation.

Lord I pray for those families that are in crises, that may come in many different forms, but You can be there in the midst. I ask that where there is brokenness, You bring healing. Where there is hurt, bring comfort. Where there is anger and bitterness, bring peace. Where there is sorrow, bring joy. Where there is division, bring wisdom and knowledge of God that will bring the heart of God into the situation. Where there is lack, bring provision. Where there is abuse, bring love and peace. Lord where there is addiction, bring freedom. Where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity. Lord, where there is other need, please meet it. Brings healing, wholeness, and Christ to every family in this nation, break off the generational patterns and curses that been passed down and help Your people pick up Your blessings that are available for a thousand generations.

I pray that husband’s love their wives as Christ loved the Church, as they declare their love for their spouse and children, remind them they are declaring You because You are love. Lord, help wives love their husbands and show honor, respect, and godly submission. Lord, help children to honor their parents and to be able to receive

Lord, I pray for Your Church body, that we take up the mantle of standing in the gap for families, not just in words, but in prayer and action. Help Your children not to condemn the lost, but to love them, just as You do. Help Your children show compassion to the hurting, and a helping hand to those in need. Help us to step out of our comfort zone and show people that they seen by You, and that You care for them. Help us to be Your hands and feet to the world around us. Help us to be patient in doing good and not grow weary.

Lord, I pray for those who are longing for a child, bless them Lord, help them to be fruitful and multiply. Lord open up wombs as You did for Sarah and Elizabeth. Lord, open up Christian hearts to open their homes to children who are in need of foster care or permanent homes. Help churches organize programs that meet the tangible needs of families in their communities without judgement.

Lord, help Your people to understand that disciples are made through relationships. You gave three years to daily teaching Your disciples. We too are called to make disciples of all nations, help us to observe all things so that we can teach others also to observe Your word. Thank You Lord that You are with us and empower us for this task. Help us to walk in faithfulness to You. In Jesus name. Amen.
