Prayer for the Preborn, their Parents, and the Church

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written, the days that were appointed for me, when as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape] (Psalm 139:16 AMP).

Lord, I acknowledge that every life is created in Your image and has value. You have a plan and purpose for every person. Lord, I repent for the silence of Your children. Forgive us for allowing our children to become choices, not living beings. Forgive us for allowing their lives to be devalued for our comfort, “rights,” and political correctness. Please have mercy on this nation for the blood shed of millions of innocent souls. We plead Your blood over America.

Lord, I lift up every woman who has had an abortion. Father, comfort each one, bring healing to their body, mind, soul and spirit. Help her to see herself as You see her and to receive Your forgiveness. Lord, help each one to walk in Your freedom and love.

Father, I pray for those women and their partners that are facing unplanned pregnancies. Lord, I pray You would open their eyes to the options and choices available to them. Surround them with people who can encourage them, and even support them as they make a decision for life. Help them to see their choice was before conception and to make a decision for life now. Show them how they can bring their child into this world in a safe and healthy way.

Lord, for those women who are facing a pregnancy that was not a choice – by rape or incest, Lord guide and direct her and the doctors that are treating her to make the best decision they can for her and the child. I may stand alone, but this decision should not involve the political arena; it is a decision for You, the woman, and her treating doctor. Where the life of the mother is at risk, also guide the doctors and mothers in that decision; it does not belong to the government to make those type of decisions.

Lord, I pray for people to rise up and be a voice for the voiceless, for these preborn children. Lord, I pray for Your truth to prevail. There is so much false information about there about what happens during an abortion to the woman and the child; it divides people that really have the same values. Help your people to speak up for those who can not speak for themselves as Your Word commands us to do. Help Your children to speak up in love and compassion, with truth and facts, not emotions and rumors. Help us to seek and administer justice, to show mercy and compassion and not plot evil against one another.

Lord, I pray that Your church would rise up and be Your hands and feet, a parent to the fatherless, the orphan, and a support to the single parent. It is easy to condemn, often comfortable to write a check in support, but it is much harder to commit to walking alongside those in need and be the hope for them until they can find their way. It is difficult to offer a home to a single parent family,to become a foster parent to a child in need, or to fully walk alongside a family who has taken on this role and help carry the burden of that full-time commitment regardless of what comes their way. Lord, open our heart to be receptive to what You would have each person do. Our foster care system is already full of children in need of a safe home and a forever home. The streets are filled with children who never found that, with families that made the choice for life, but have no support. Lord, wake Your people up and move us into action.
