Prophetic Words

So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:19-21

We have to pay attention when a prophetic word is given because it often doesn’t come in season. It may come in a dark season to give hope. It may also come as a foretelling, so we have to hold the space for it until the word comes to pass. It is also important not to add our own interpretation to a prophetic word because prophecy comes from God.

There are a few prophetic words that have been spoken over my life that I am still waiting on. There are others that I have seen come to pass. Most did not come in the way that I pictured when the word was spoken. I have also had prophetic dreams come true that I didn’t understand in the moment. I have learned to take note of them when I remember dreams.

Lord thank you for allowing me at times to move in the prophetic, but even more that You for speaking words over me and allowing me to see Your hand at work in my life. Continue the work in and through me.
