Prayer for our Nation

Lord, I thank You for the majesty and beauty of Your creation, despite the ugliness in our world today, it still shines through in creation, the sunrises and sunsets. Lord, I lift up our country to You. Yesterday there was an assassination attempt on the life of a former president, and from what the news is reporting also the loss of an innocent life and the assailant. Lord, I pray for the truth to be heard over the rumor mills and agendas. I pray that this country can come together recognizing this senseless act was an attack against the fabric of our country. I pray that leadership will respond with integrity, compassion and justice. I pray for the family who lost a loved one that was caught in the crossfire of this act, give them peace and comfort. I pray for the safety of our former presidents as well as those currently serving in our government. Lord, bring our country together, let us walk as one nation under God instead of allowing further division. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
