Hoping and Eagerly Waiting

For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it. Romans 8:24-25

I am hopeful that God willing we will be going to Arkansas for the holiday weekend. We will be picking up two of our five grandchildren to come stay with us for a few weeks. My last trip, I didn’t want to go. It felt rushes and I had issues with my flight. So I am excited about this trip. I love having time with my grandchildren. I’ve been on a constant countdown with my oldest daughter, my grandchildren and a friend. I eagerly am waiting for it.

God has promised so much in His Word. Am I equally hoping and eagerly waiting for His promises? Am I hoping and eagerly waiting for His return? I don’t think God is upset about my hope in this visit, but I think He does want me to keep my hope in Him. He wants me to eagerly await the promises He gives.

Lord, thank You for giving me the opportunity to have extra time with my grandkids. Help me to also keep my hope in You and eagerly await Your promises and return.
