Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31
Waiting on the Lord is not always easy. In the waiting we can prepare ourselves for the way of the Lord. We can spend time in prayer, searching the Word for guidance, giving to those in need, or serving. Waiting does not mean idleness. Waiting time is preparation time and preparation time is never wasted time.
When we have waited on the Lord, He renews our strength for the next part of our journey. We can find that we are able to reach our desired goal in God’s will quicker when we mount on wings like eagles. We can soar above things that would try to bring us down. We can out run those things because we won’t weary as quickly. We can endure, walking without faithing. Those things don’t come though, without first waiting on the Lord. We need to give Him time to prepare us.
Lord, I don’t always use the waiting time for preparation. Help me to wait better so that I will be prepared for the next things You have for me.
