”And He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him. When He arrived at the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray, saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him. And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground. When He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow, and said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”“. Luke 22:39-46

Jesus could’ve told the disciples anything at this point. Yet not once but twice, he warned against temptation. Jesus says “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.“
Being tempted as different from entering into temptation. Being tempted happens to me. Entering into temptation is something I do by giving into the temptation. It is a choice that I make.
I also take notice that the disciples followed Jesus into the Mount of Olives, but not completely. He told them to pray and went on. It was an angel that came, and ministered to Him, not the disciples. The angel strengthened Him for what was about to happen. Even as Jesus was praying, not to have to go through it, He was being ministered to spiritually so He could endure God’s will. Sometimes even with others close by, the only thing that will get us through is a spiritual strength from God.
Lord , help me to not enter into temptation, but to go to You for my strength to withstand. Thank You that You are strength in my weakness.
