”“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”“ Luke 22:31-32

Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail. Jesus knew that he would turn away and that when Peter came back, he would strengthen others. Peter was sifted like wheat, and I’ve been there too. I’ve denied when I should’ve confessed. I’ve walked away when I should’ve drew near. But I had Jesus interceding for me. Praying that my faith would not fail. Holy Spirit resides within and helps us build others up.
”Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.“ Romans 8:33-34
If we think that we are immune to the attacks of the enemy, we are easily wrong. He is still trying to undermine God through attack against God’s children. So we need the strength from God to resist the devil and stand against him.
Lord, just as Peter needed You, so I need You. Thank You for Your interceding and for Holy Spirit, who helps me stand against the attacks from the enemy in faith and to help encourage brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me to do my part just as You do Yours. In Jesus name, amen
