Save Me

Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.” John 12:27-28

Jesus was predicting His death. The flesh or human part of Jesus likely wanted to say “save me from this hour.” Yet, He knew this was why He was sent. It was His purpose.

We also need to be so convinced of our purpose that we will say “This is why I’m here, glorify Your name Father.” We often think of particular career paths as a purpose. God is to be in every detail of our lives and whatever we are doing can bring Him glory. One day we will each stand before God and give account for what we have done for Him. We will also give account for what we didn’t do. As much as we would like to get out of the difficulties we walk through, they typically have a purpose in our life usually character development and growth because God knows the big picture.

Lord, I want my life to glorify You help me to surrender everything to You in Jesus name Amen.
