Gifts

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:8-10

God has given spiritual gifts to every person. Recently I heard a talk about how people often use these gifts for evil, because they are not believers or have not learned to walk in the gift for God’s glory yet. Holy Spirit enables us to use what He is placed inside of us for God’s glory. I had never thought about how God grows what He’s already placed within us, so of course the enemy would try to use that for his purposes also.

Healing is my word for the year, it’s been my focus this month as I journaled. God places within some people the gift of healing and for some they will easily operate in it. Others have that gift come upon them for a specific healing.

I don’t feel like I have the gift of healing; although, I know at times God has worked healing through me. I know at times I am more focused on the counseling process than on the spiritual healing that leads to total wellness. I want to be available for God to use, but generally I need to get out of His way.

Lord, we need to see more gifts operating in Your Church. Help people, myself included, to use the gifts You have placed within us for Your glory and honor. I ask for Your wisdom and understanding, discernment, faith, healing, prophecy, tongues, interpretation and miracles in my life and those of fellow believers. Lord work in and through me by the power of Your Spirit. I want to see more of Your Spirit activated in the church. In Jesus name Amen
