Call to Me

O Lord my God,
I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
Psalm 30:2

This word healed is Strong’s H7495 – rāp̄ā’ – a figurative healing meaning restored and often forgiveness. God promised if we cry out to Him, He will restore and forgive us. He created us for a relationship with Him. He wants us to call to Him when we have gone astray or when we just haven’t had contact in a while.

My children all live in separate cities. I love to receive their calls whether it is for help or just to talk. Stores our relationship even though it isn’t broken except by distance. I love knowing that they are thinking of me. I need to talk to them I will reach out to them, but I love when they call me and say it’s been a minute since we talked. I imagine that God feels the exact same way. Two of my kids I generally hear from weekly to maybe every other week, while the 3rd is every 3 to 4 weeks. I know they’re busy with their own lives. As much as I would love to talk to them daily, the time zones make it near impossible. But with God there are no time zones. God is outside of time. I can call on Him any day of the week at anytime. When I call on Him, He hears me and He restores or heals me.

Thank You Lord for the invitation “Call to Me.” Lord, I want to call on ou daily, not our of need but in desire of Your presence. I thank You for always hearing me when I call out to You. Thank You for the healing, for restoration and forgiveness. Le me never take You for granted.
