”And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.”“. Exodus 15:26
There is power in reading God’s word so that we know what it say; obeying God’s word; and living in right standing with Him. All of these are tied to the triune Godhead. Jesus is The Word of Life who took our sickness and disease upon Him at the cross. Holy Spirt draws us into knowledge of Jesus and brings us to understanding of the Word. God is Jehovah Rapha who brings healing when we know and obey what He has said.
Sometimes this healing takes place in the temporal life and other times it takes place in the eternal. But this healing is also figurative, heal hurts of nation, involving י׳’s (restored) favour (and, often, forgiveness).Our nation needs healing. We need healing to the hurts, restoration of favor and forgiveness in our nation.
Our responsibility is to heed His voice. We are called to do what is right. We listen to the Word and then we obey it. The rest is on God. It is easy to want to blame the other side. It is easy to get focused on the politics, but what we need is to get back the Christian heritage that this nation was founded on. Not one grounded in oppression but one grounded in love.
Lord, there is so much healing that needs to take place in my life, with those I love and with this nation. I stand listening to Your Word and attempting to obey, lord bring forgiveness and restore your favor upon us. In Jesus name. Amen
