Praying out the Old

As the year comes to an end, Lord I look back and reflect on how good a God You are. You have provided for me this Year the things that I need, and often the desires of my heart that were just a want. I thank You for Your comfort despite the pains I have faced, You saw me through those difficult times and are still walking beside me. I remember Your faithfulness, and thank You for Your new mercies every morning. Thank You for Your protection from the things I know about and the things You protected me from facing that I don’t even know about. I remember the times I failed and when I fell and I praise You for Your complete forgiveness of my sins. I thank You for the joys I have been able to experience and the peace You have surrounded me with despite the conflict in the world. Thank You for the fellowship with You and with those You have blessed my life with. Thank You for walking with me, talking with me, loving me, bringing me joy and that You continue to desire a relationship with me. I praise You for who You are and all You have done for me and in me.

Lord help me as this year closes to leave the negative things here and carry with me the joy of my salvation into the next year. Help me to leave behind the worries that try to weigh me down. Help me leave the pain and sorrow and carry with me the positive memories. Help me leave behind the negative thoughts and focus on what is true, noble, right and pure. Help me let go of guilt and shame and walk in Your forgiveness. Help me let go of any bitterness and judgmental attitude and walk in Your love and compassion being a neighbor that looks out for others and lifts them up. Help we extend help where I can help and receive help when it is offered. I ask these things in Jesus name. Amen!
