”And pray also for me, that God will give me a message when I am ready to speak, so that I may speak boldly and make known the gospel’s secret. For the sake of this gospel I am an ambassador, though now I am in prison. Pray that I may be bold in speaking about the gospel as I should.“. Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭‬‬

The idea that God will give me a message when it is time for me to speak resonates. When I’ve been asked to speak to congregations, public speaking, or women events, God has given me a message specific to that event. I can only think of one exception, and maybe God wanted me to use other material at that time. I shared several days from a devotional on the reality of Easter during a women’s Bible study.

I feel like I’m bolder one to one than when leading a large group. I always want to be respectful of people’s time and I can easily get going on certain topics. I know that others will have feedback and want to make sure there is time for that without going over the allotted time. So I tend to stay to my notes. Maybe I’m not fully trusting God to give me the ability to stay on task. I can do it one on one or in a smaller group, so if God has called me to speak to a larger group, can I trust him equally?

We are God’s ambassadors regardless of where we are. Paul was in prison. That fact did not change whose he was or the task that God had called him to. Often pimple think of the pulpit as the place where they represent God. The reality is we represent God every moment of our Christian walk. At times, I fail that assignment but the assignment doesn’t change. If I am setting that a counseling session, shopping at the store, or teaching from a pulpit I am God’s ambassador. My job is making known the Gospel secrets to those god brings to me. I need to pray daily for myself and for a fellow Christians that with boldness we would declare the gospel and love as ambassadors of Christ.

Lord I confess I’ve not always boldly confessed the gospel or given my best as an ambassador of Christ. Forgive me and let me walk an obedience to the message You place within me. Let me boldly declare the gospel in love to those You have called me too. I will walk in obedience to You and allow Holy Spirit to work through me as Your ambassador. Help every believer to do the same. In Jesus name Amen.
