Raise

God raised the Lord from death, and he will also raise us by his power. 1 Corinthians 6:14

I believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. I can’t explain how it happened; it is more than my mind can comprehend. Yet every ounce of my being believes that it is a factual event in history. I believe if it was not, there would be evidence that refuted it from as soon as it occurred.

I am someone who likes facts so when I don’t believe something (or if someone tells me what I believe is wrong), I look for facts. I want the official answer, not the one that populates the most interest. Just because people say things or repost it, doesn’t make it fact. I like to go to the source.

The Romans that crucified Jesus and the religious leaders would have showed the world the proof if He had not risen from the grave. They had no problem manufacturing proof of Jesus insurrection. To me, that is proof and supports the entire Bible.

This verse says God raised Jesus up and He will raise us up by His power. The context of this verse is using our body, God’s temple, for His glory. I don’t believe that it is a discussing when we are taken up when Jesus returns. So if I’m using my body as God’s temple, God will raise me up in His timing. He can orchestrate whatever is needed to fulfill His purpose.

If God can bring a boy in the field before a prophet of the Lord to anoint David King, if he can bring Joseph from his father’s favor, to a pit, to a prison, to second in command to save Egypt, and if he can float a little boy down a river and use Moses to bring God’s people out of bondange, God can and does still raise up His children. We have to stand in faith and not try to orchestrate things on our own trying to lift up ourselves in pride. God lifts up the humble.

Lord, I am sorry for the times I have tried to lift myself up through self promotion and manipulation. Help me to trust You to lift me up when, where, and how You want to raise me up. If You can raise Jesus from the dead, You can raise me up to fulfill the plans and purpose You have me for. I will wait on You and stop trying to do things on my own.
